Guardian of the Orchard

Old Man Peterson’s apple orchard. The perfect place for Simon and his two brothers to while away the hours between school and dinner – so long as Peterson himself doesn’t catch them, cursing and swinging that axe handle. He’s too slow to actually grab the boys so his threats and strange curses seem kind of funny. But there’s nothing funny about whatever is watching from behind the limbs, waiting to harvest a fresh young human crop.
