During World WWII, Elizabeth sent Morse code while serving in the WAAAF (Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force). After the war, she began to travel, and she has been globe-trotting ever since. She has lived in thirteen countries, and at one time was able to speak six languages. Elizabeth said, "I was always afraid that frontiers would close and that I'd miss out on some countries. I always expected to find a miracle around every corner. And I did."
