The Azores are rich in the extension of its ocean and the irregularity of its submarine depths; they are, however, fragile in the narrowness of its litoral. However, the abundance of the ocean and the wealth of submarine banks demand a careful management so that its exploitation is sustainable, and the use of the litoral needs to be carefully planned to avoid the rupture of its delicate biological balance.
